I believe Germany could not make firearms as an agreement of WW II surrender terms, so Walther licensed Manurhin to manufacture the PP and PPK line of handguns. I personally own two PPK .22 lr Manurhin's. One a steel frame, and the other a dural frame but not marked PPK/L, but the 500,000 Lr serial number range.
