Feb 28, 2022 · I bought this because I like retractable nibs (Pilot VP, Lamy Dialog, Majohn A1), and I am a long time Moonman junky. I've got over 60 of their pens. This is the only fountain pen I own that I loath. In my opinion, the entire point of a retractable nib is that it can easily be extended & retracted with one hand.

The Majohn A1 retractable nib pen has features I like: metal pen has nice heft in the hand and I want that with a pen that has a nib retractor. Feels reliable and able to withstand a lot of use and time in my pocket. The extra fine nib is smooth on paper. - no scratching at all. The nib hole closes tight - no drips.
